Project Summary:

We’re working in close partnership with Yapeka to implement Precision Fishing in an artisanal fishery. Pisces is being trialled to help fishermen avoid bycatch of dugongs, dolphins, and turtles. Not only does bycatch threaten the populations of these species, but it can also damage fishing gear which is costly for the fishers. Pisces is being trialled on several gear types to assess its ease of use in this context and impact on catches.
