SeaSensor System: Troubleshooting & FAQs
SeaSensor simplifies ocean data collection by integrating multiple sensors into one device. It collects key metrics like temperature, depth, turbidity, light intensity, immersion, and a 9-axis accelerometer.
Additional data like salinity, dissolved oxygen, and pH are in development and available upon request as custom configurations.
SeaSensor attaches to fishing or research equipment, activating upon submersion to record environmental metrics.
You have a few easy options to access your data:
- Cloud Hub: The hub automatically connects the SeaSensor system to the cloud. That way, you can access your data in the cloud from anywhere.
- Deploy and Recover: After deployment, retrieve the sensor and simply use the SeaSensor App to download the data via Bluetooth. You can view the data instantly for immediate feedback. For more in-depth analysis, the data can be downloaded as a .csv file for later processing.
- Acoustic (Coming Soon): This will display data live on a screen in the wheelhouse—no retrieval required.
Yes, you can program SeaSensor using the SeaSensor App.
The app lets you easily select and switch between these modes to suit your needs. Depending on the mode, the battery can last for up to 30 days – or even longer – in one charge.
While SeaSensor captures raw data, it doesn’t perform predictive analysis. The data can be exported for custom analysis in applications best suited to your needs. We are however investigating how we can help you turn this data into valuable insights and hope to have more on this in 2025.
You can access the SeaSensor ‘Full User Guide’ by pressing the ‘?’ button at the lower-right of the App screen.
You can also access the user guide via our website. Just scroll up to the top of this page and click on ‘Download User Guide. The guide contains many useful tips for using SeaSensor.
